Jonathan's Story
Jonathan is dedicated to securing and protecting the human right to health. He first joined the U.S. Army where he coordinated, conducted, and participated in medical-focused, humanitarian missions in peacetime and wartime. He continued his public service through AmeriCorps VISTA, Public Allies, and Teach for America. He later became a community organizer working with organizations devoted to dismantling systems and practices that threaten our well-being while building collective, community-driven power. He entered the political sphere working on addressing welfare policy needs of the growing Latin American diaspora population in the U.S. He's now a volunteer firefighter in training. With an academic background in international relations, national security studies, and bioethics, he's working towards defending communities from threats to health and well-being.
